Spring Racing Lunch 2017

"There is, arguably, now no name in racing bigger than the first woman to win the Melbourne Cup”
(The Age, 1 September 2017)

We are excited to announce that Michelle Payne will be our special guest for this year's Racing Lunch.

Michelle Payne, the youngest daughter of a legendary racing family, took 100-1 shot Prince of Penzance to victory on November 2015. Six months latershe suffered life-threatening injuries in a terrible race fall before demonstrating remarkable courage and resolve to resume riding late last year.

Now Michelle is embarking on a training career, an ambassadorial role for the Spring Racing Carnival and joining Seven’s racing team as an expert commentator. It’s no wonder a feature film about her career is currently in production!

“All footballers need a lot of help if they are to develop their skills. The 500 Supporters’ Group is helping provide basic health and education facilities, which we take for granted, for kids and adults in the poorest regions of Africa.

I encourage any person who can assist with this work to get behind The 500 Supporters’ Group.”
